Wash the rutabaga with cold water after bringing them home from the food market.
Peel the skin of the rutabagas, and after that, chop them into smaller chunks. The pieces should not be more than 1 inch.
Put the rutabagas pieces in a boiling pan. Pour some cold water into the pan.
Turn on the heat and let the water boil along with the rutabagas. Add a pinch of salt to the water. Let the rutabagas boil for at least a half an hour.
Drain water and keep the rutabaga pieces in the pan. Also, reduce the heat of the oven to low.
Wait for a minute or two to let the rutabaga steam. Then use a masher to mash the rutabaga chunks.
Add butter, sour cream to the mashed rutabagas. This is done to make the dish more creamy.
Finally, taking the pan out of the oven, add some freshly grounded black pepper and Kosher salt to the meal. Season it properly to add the magical touch at the end.
