Keyword: egg white, tuiles washota

Ingredients

  • 2 white eggs
  • ½ or ¾ cup caster sugar (depending on your preferences)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 340 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Whisk egg whites in a bowl for a minute.
  • Add the sugar gradually and whisk until frothy.
  • Stir in the flour gradually.
  • Add the butter until it’s melted.
  • Keep on mixing until you have a smooth batter.
  • Keep the batter in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
  • Spread the batter onto a lined baking tray. Spread into thin circles and make sure that they’re well-spaced.
  • Place in the oven for about 8 minutes, or until the batter has turned golden around the edges.
  • Remove the baking tray from the oven and lift each tuile off quickly and roll it over the handle of a spoon and let it cool.
  • When the tuiles have cooled off, remove them and store them in an air-tight container.
