Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mix the guava paste with the guava juice and rum in a saucepan over low heat. Keep on stirring to remove any lumps.
Grease a baking dish with butter and dust with some sugar.
Beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks and add to the cool guava puree.
Add the mixture to the baking dish and bake until it changes colour.
Beat the egg yolks in a bowl and add the vanilla extract and sugar.
Add the milk and stir well.
Cook over medium heat and stir until the custard thickens.
Serve the custard on top of the guava paste and let it cool.
