Keep all the ingredients ready and in one place.
Preheat the broiler for 10 to 15 minutes and place the rack on the top section of the oven.
Make sure to position it in a way that the steak stays around 5 inches away from the heat source.
Mix the kosher salt and freshly ground pepper with the olive oil in a separate bowl.
Take the beef on a plate and sprinkle the oil mixture to cover it.
Turn it around to cover the other side with the oil mixture as well.
Rub in the oil and the salt-pepper mixture into the top round beef thoroughly. Ensure that each part of the steak is covered with the oil mixture properly.
Oil the oven rack with the excess olive oil to ensure that the meat does not stick to the metal rods of the rack.
Place the oven-proof pan on the rack and let it cook for 10 – 15 minutes.
After 12 to 15 minutes, turn the beef over and cook the other side for another 10 to 12 minutes.
You can cook it for longer if you want to beef to de done well.
Now, take the cooked top round out of the oven and place it on a cutting board.
You can use a sharp meat knife to cut the meat into thin slices.
Serve hot and enjoy with a lager on the side or just as is.
