How to Make Shredded BBQ Chicken
The BBQ method adds a unique taste to shredded chicken, so it will work better on pizza, as a sandwich filling, or on top of the salad. Unlike other simpler methods, this one is packed with the smoky flavours of paprika and the BBQ sauce.
- 3 pounds of boneless chicken
- 1 tbsp of olive oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 cloves cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper
- 2 cups of BBQ sauce
- 2 tsp of smoked paprika
Make sure that the chicken is dry and preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Use a heavy pot with a lid and heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
Cook the onion and garlic until golden and soft, then add the smoked paprika and stir.
Add the chicken, one piece at a time, and mix well.
Pour in the BBQ sauce and let it simmer.
Cover the pot and put it in the oven. Bake for 90 minutes.
Transfer the chicken to another bowl and let it cool. Use 2 forks to shred the chicken.
Bring the rest of the sauce back on the stove and reduce it at high heat. Pour the rest on the chicken and let the meat absorb the thickened sauce.
