Guava and Cream Cheese Pastry

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 packet cream cheese
  • 1 cup guava paste
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1/4 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 sheet puff pastry

Instructions

  • Beat one egg and add to cream cheese and vanilla.
  • In a different bowl, beat the other egg and add water to prepare the egg wash.
  • Put the mixture in a food processor and mix until smooth, then transfer to a bowl.
  • In the food processor, mix the guava paste with the lemon juice.
  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a work surface, then transfer to a baking sheet.
  • Take a piece of the puff pastry sheet and spread the cream cheese mixture on top, leaving one inch of borders on all the sides.
  • On top of the cream, add the guava paste mixture.
  • Brush the egg wash around the filling.
  • Add the other sheet of puff pastry on top and press on the empty borders.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until golden.
  • Let the puff pastry cool off.
