Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Start by melting the butter and putting it into a baking dish. Your cobbler can be baked in a pan that’s about 13 x 9 inches.
Mix flour, baking powder, one cup of sugar, and salt.
Then add in the milk and stir.
Pour all of that into your baking pan on top of the butter, but don’t mix it in.
On a high heat, cook the peach slices, lemon juice and remaining sugar.
Stir as the mixture is heating and keep stirring until it is boiling. Once the mixture starts to boil, you can take it off the heat and add it to your baking dish with the other ingredients. Do not stir the mixture together.
Bake for 40 minutes until the cobbler has turned a golden brown colour.
