Ice Milk Tea Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups whole milk  lower fat milk can work too for fewer calories
  • 2 black tea bags (tea bags will make iteasy to remove the tea)
  • Sugar, honey, or other sweeteners,to taste
  • Note: for a non-dairy or vegan alternative, you can also use almond, coconut, or soy milk

Instructions

  • In a small pan, heat the milk over low heat without allowing the milk to boil. You only want to stir the milk frequently until you see some steam. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Add the tea or the tea bags to a jug that’s large enough to contain the hot milk.
  • Pour the hot milk over the tea and let the tea steep for about 5 to 10 minutes while stirring gently and occasionally.
  • Remove the tea bags and give them a light squeeze then discard them.
  • Add your sweetener of choice, if any, and stir it gently to dissolve to help it dissolve properly while the milk is hot.
  • Cover the hot tea latte with a piece of cloth to prevent it from forming a skin, and let it cool down outside the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the cloth, cover the jug loosely with plastic wrap, and put it in the fridge overnight or until it’s cold enough.
  • When ready to serve, prepare a serving glass with 1 or 2 pieces of ice and pour the drink over it.
