How to Oven Roast Frozen Broccoli

I like to season my roasted broccoli and make sure has lots of flavor, and that makes it a great side dish for meats, mashed potatoes and bread. You don't have to season it just the way I do, but I want to give you a recipe for how to roast frozen broccoli florets with all the seasoning I might use, and you can always reduce the amount of ingredients or just use whatever you have on hand to season yours.
Servings: 0

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces of frozen broccoli florets
  • ½ tsp of kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp of black pepper
  • 1 lemon, have
  • 1 pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp tablespoons of extra Virgin olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper and place it onto the lower rack in the oven as the oven preheats.
  • Mix together the broccoli, sugar, salt, oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes in a bowl.
  • When the oven has heated, take the hot baking sheet out of the oven using an oven mitt. Add the broccoli to a pan and spread it evenly in a single layer. Try to turn the broccoli so that it is touching the pan as much as possible.
  • Play stuff pan on the lower wrap in the oven and bake for about 16 minutes. The broccoli needs to bake until it is starting to brown on the ends and it is tender. You can check to see if it is tender by poking it with a fork. To make a crispy roasted broccoli, bake for an additional one to two minutes on the top rack after switching the oven to broil.
  • Remove the broccoli from the oven and squeeze the lemon to drizzle lemon juice over the top.
