Butterfly A Flank Steak Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound 1 ½ pound depending on the need of the meat
  • Butter or margarine
  • Dry stuffing mix
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • Green onions, minced
  • Mushroom, or spinach (any one of your choice)
  • Mushroom gravy
  • Red wine
  • Garlic clove, minced
  • Grated or sliced cheese
  • Bell pepper chopped(red)

Instructions

Note: Before going to the cooking part, you have to prepare the meat first.

  • Take the butterflied meat of ½ to ¼ inch or so to your liking.
  • Lay the meat on a flat surface, with the help of a kitchen mallet, pound it gently. Make sure it becomes flat in the shape of a rectangle.
  • Season the meat with salt and pepper. This gives the advantage of seasoning it from the inside out. Let the flank steak soak up the seasoning for 15-20 minutes.

Instructions:(in oven)

  • Preheat the oven at 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.
  • Now, take the stuffing mix, butter, or margarine in a medium bowl and mix it nicely. Keep it aside for 10 minutes. Now, take that stuffing mix and other moist ingredients if you wanna include your salad recipe or any type of cheese(entirely optional). Now stuff the spices as mentioned above on the meat and spread it. Leave a one-inch gap on both sides.     
  • Layer the cheese from top to bottom. It should be extremely thin.
  • Roll the flank steak, make sure it is tight enough to retain the ingredients. Let it rest seam down and try to keep it intact. Start typing the entire steak with the help of a strong thread, measure the roll before tying. I recommend a kitchen twine, tied in an interval of one and a half inches. Insert a stick and slice the flank steak into a cylindrical shape.
  • Use a separate bowl and combine the mushroom gravy, wine (or apple juice if you want) garlic cloves. Mix it gently and pour it over the steak.
  • Put it in the oven, bake it at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.
