Ham and Potato Soup Slow Cooker Recipe

Servings: 0

Ingredients

  • 8 cups of potatoes, diced
  • 2 large carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • ½ cup of celery, chopped
  • 16 ounces of ham, cubed
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • ¼ cup of flour
  • 1 tsp of kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp of ground black pepper
  • ½ cup of sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups of heavy cream

Instructions

  • To make this ham and potato soup slow cooker dish, start by adding the potatoes, ham, salt, pepper, chicken broth, carrot, celery, and onion to the slow cooker. You can mix them all together to ensure that everything combines for your soup.
  • If you want to cook on a low heat setting, then cook for 7 to 8 hours. You can speed up the process and cook on high for 4-5 hours.
  • Once everything is done cooking, mash up about a third of the potatoes to help thicken the soup. You can use a potato masher for this, and you don't have to worry much about the ham mashing, as it should be mostly unaffected.
  • Add in heavy cream, sour cream, and flour. Mix everything together.
  • Cover your slow cooker and cook on the high setting for another 15 minutes.
